ELIGIBILTY

  • Each entrant must submit a completed Athlete Application and Waiver
  • Adults ages 50-plus are invited to participate in any of our sports and events. The majority of our events welcome adults 40-plus.
  • Silver State Games welcomes Nevada residents and out-of-state participants.
  • Age group assignment will be determined by age as of December 31 of the current year.
  • All entrants will compete within their 5-year age group (40-44, 45-49, 50-54, etc.). 
  • In the event there is only 1 entrant in an Age Group, that entrant will compete in the next lower age group. 
    • Example: If only 1 athlete is in the 65-69 Age Group, then they will compete in the 60-64 Age Group but will earn a medal based upon their placement in the 65-69 Age Group.
  • Medals will be awarded according to actual age group. 
  • Team and Doubles entries will be assigned to the Age Group of the youngest player. 
  • Team Captains must submit a completed application and team roster.
  • Each Team member must submit a signed waiver. 


ELIGIBILITY FOR NATIONAL SENIOR GAMES 

  • The biennial National Senior Games is open to athletes ages 50+. 
  • Many sports require qualification through a state member organization such as Silver State Games.
  • Visit www.nsga.com for rules and more information. 

AWARDS

  • The first 3 Nevada residents in each age group within each event will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. 
  • Out-of-state and international residents will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals based on actual order of finish. 
  • Out-of-area residents cannot displace Nevada residents.
  • Participants are responsible to pick up their medals and Silver State commemorative pin at the event. Medals and pins are not mailed.

EVENT STARTING TIMES

  • Check-in time is generally 30 minutes before start time. 
  • Late arrivals may compete at the Sport Coordinator's discretion. 
  • Contact the Sport Coordinator for event questions. 
  • Contact Silver State Games office for registration questions.  

ONLINE REGISTRATION & ENTRY DEADLINES

  • Online registration opens on April 1 each year. If a situation occurs that may delay registration opening (example: natural disaster, technical issues, etc.), updates will be sent by email or posted on the Silver State Games' Facebook page.
  • If assistance is needed with registering online, email silverstategamesnv@outlook.com.
  • "Early Bird" registration offers a $5 athlete fee discount from April 1 to July 31 (11:59 p.m.).
  • Regular athlete registration fee pricing goes into effect on August 1.
  • Sport fees and additional costs vary by sport.
  • Registration deadlines vary by sport, usually 2 weeks before competition. Check the sport(s) web page for more information.
  • No late entries or day-of registration. No exceptions.

PAYMENT

  • All entries must be paid in full before participation.
  • Team Captains must submit all team fees. 
  • Team members entering additional events must register and pay separately.
  • Payment is processed through the registration system.  Accepted payment: Visa,  MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. 

REFUNDS

  • No refunds after August 31. 
  • Refund requests must be submitted in writing (mail, email, or hand delivery) and received by August 31.
  • All refunds will include a $25 administrative fee. 

DRESS & EQUIPMENT

  • All athletes must wear appropriate attire for their event. 
  • All athletes are responsible for the provision of equipment required to compete.
  • Some events may offer loan or rental equipment. Check with the Sport  Coordinator for availability. 
  • Equipment must meet Silver State Games or governing body standards. Check the sport web page or with the Sport Coordinator for more information. 

CONDUCT & SPORTSMANSHIP

  • Participants must follow sport rules and official decisions. \
  • Participants must show courtesy and respect to fellow participants, officials, spectators, volunteers, staff, and emergency services personnel.
  • Participants who do not follow health order after August 31 may withdraw without prejudice (no refunds).
  • Unsportsmanlike or disruptive conduct may result in disqualification with no refund. 
  • Severe incidents may result in the participant's removal from other events or a  permanent ban.

DISPUTES

  • Participation is governed by the rules in each sport information sheet.
  • All disputes will be settled by the Sports Coordinator (final decision).
  • Check the sport information sheet or web page for details.
